Frequently Asked Questions

Who is it that runs Change Conference?

Change Conference is hosted and organized by the Canadian Youth Network.

How do I become a sponsor/exhibitor?

If you are interested in becoming a sponsor or having an exhibit space at Change Conference 2016, please contact Olivia Bronson at olivia@changeconference.com

Who is the Canadian Youth Network?

The Canadian Youth Network is a grassroots ministry that has the vision that every teen in Canada has a chance to experience the love of God, respond to the gospel and be discipled in a spiritually healthy church.  CYN exists to serve Canadian churches by supporting YOUTH LEADERS as they develop spiritually healthy teens.

For how many years has Change Conference been taking place?

This year marks the 12th annual Change Conference in its 1.5 day evangelism evening and empowerment day format. It began as an extension of the annual one night Change Your World event which began in 2002.

Why did CYN begin the Change Conference?

Change Conference began as a result of CYN listening to a common theme among youth leaders that there was very little being offered to inspire and empower leadership level teens and young adults. This event has been welcoming speakers and communicators from around the world to pour into the lives of young leaders in Canada.

What are the Focus Groups on the Saturday Schedule?

We provide a 1.5 hour opportunity for individuals to go into one of several focus groups. These sessions allow for Q&A as well as up close and personal contact with session leaders in an interactive learning environment. This year’s focus groups include topics such as [apologetics, social justice, self image, evangelism and many more.]

What is the purpose of Friday Night Change?

In a word: Evangelism. CYN is excited to offer Friday Night Change as an opportunity for youth groups to invite their non-Christian friends. This event will be exciting and full of fun surprises!  The night also features the amazing musical talents of NF and speaker Phil Cann! However, at the core of the evening is the clear and relevant message of the gospel.

Will there be counseling for those that make first time decisions?

This event is designed to serve youth groups and leaders. Our belief is that the youth leader should be the first and main connection with their students. If you are bringing non-Christian students their you and your leaders need to be prepared to offer any “counselling” needed for those in your group. That being said, we will distribute follow up material provided by the Billy Graham Association of Canada, Bibles from Canadian Bible Society and will do our best to serve individuals as needed. We will also have a prayer room available for use throughout the conference.

What is the targeted audience/age group for Change 2016?

Our target audience is mainly high school age young people, but Change has also become a gathering to inspire and empower emerging young adult leaders in their 20s and 30s.

Why is the price so low?

CYN works hard to raise money through donors and sponsors to keep the price affordable for youth and leaders to participate in the full weekend.  The $10 for Friday night also allows for youth to pay for their non Christian friends to attend.
